Job description

At PVcase, we're building the software that's eliminating inefficiencies in solar development, clearing the path to a net-zero economy. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our GroundMount software team, the product that automates everything from millimeter-level terrain adaptation to instant layout creation for thousands of solar engineers daily. We're looking for a leader with a strong technical foundation and a proven passion for people management, someone who can act as a technical mentor, guide strategic decisions, and inspire their team to do their best work. If you're a technical leader who loves solving complex challenges and wants to make a tangible impact on our planet's future, we want to hear from you.

In this role you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing, collaborative, distributed team of software engineers.

  • Manage the team's delivery of the product roadmap, partnering with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to ensure quality, alignment, and clear communication.

  • Empower the team to own and improve their software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an Agile environment, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable delivery.

  • Guide your team’s technical strategy by facilitating architectural decisions, promoting modern engineering practices, and ensuring smart, sustainable trade-offs.

Job requirements

  • Proven experience leading a distributed or remote-first engineering team.

  • Proven experience managing an engineering team that has shipped a commercial B2B or SaaS product.

  • A track record as a coach and mentor, with demonstrated ability to help engineers improve their skills and advance their careers.

  • A deep curiosity and a passion for learning, with the ability to guide teams through new, complex domains even when you're not the subject matter expert.

  • Experience maturing a team's engineering practices, including CI/CD, test automation, and data-driven metrics.

  • Experience working closely with Product Managers and Product Designers to scope, prioritize, and deliver on a product roadmap.

  • A deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles, and the ability to adapt them to fit a team's specific needs.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience building or managing products that integrate with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and an understanding of modern service-oriented architectures.

Bonus Experience

  • A background in an object-oriented language, such as proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.

  • Experience in a relevant complex domain (e.g., 3D graphics, computational geometry, applied math, optimization) or with specific 3D modeling SDKs (e.g., AutoCAD API, ObjectARX).

  • Experience managing the release cycle of a commercial desktop plug-in, including installers, licensing, and telemetry.

  • Domain knowledge in the solar, renewable energy, or electrical engineering (MEP) industries.
